He joined the Fire Department in 1987 and studied at the Firefighter, Senior Firefighter, and Fire Department Officer schools of the Fire Academy. He received further training at the Fire Academy's Training School in aerial coordination of forest firefighting, in investigating the start and cause of urban and forest fires and in preliminary investigations, as well as in Crisis Management at the National School of Public Administration.
He served for 33 years in the Fire Department, managing large operational units of the Department and serving in critical staff positions at Headquarters, including that of Head of the Legal Service. He retired successfully with the rank of Lieutenant General.
Today, he works as a Technical Advisor in the investigation of the origin and cause of fires, as well as a Fire Safety and Fire Protection Advisor for buildings of all uses. At the same time, he provides Civil Protection Consultant services to Local Government Organizations of the 1st and 2nd degree.
